Project Resilience 911, has been created as a localized Peer Support Team to support all First Responders/Frontline workers in the Brandon and Westman area and their families. Our main focus is promoting first responder/frontline mental health. Project Resilience 911 is still in the early stages of development, currently the team has representatives from Brandon Police Service, RCMP D Division, Rivers Police Service, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services, Canadian Armed Forces, Brandon Regional Health Centre Emergency Department, Brandon Correctional Centre and our local Emergency Communications (Telecoms).

Project Resilience 911 has been established in effort to share resources, initiatives, funding and training opportunities between all first responder/frontline agencies in our area. Via Facebook, our team connects with first responders/frontline employees and their families. Facebook is also an outlet to keep group members up to date on the current endeavours of the Project Resilience 911 Peer Support Team. The page contains articles and information on First Responder trauma and mental health, including resources.

We look forward to establishing continued and further rapport with our local first responders/frontline workers and their families through promotional events subsidized by our fundraising efforts. These proceeds are also used to invest in peer support and mental health training opportunities specific to first responders.

On September 11, 2021, we will be hosting our 2nd annual run/bike event. This year we commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 and it’s impact on first responders and civilians alike. This event is open to the public who wish to show their support for first responder mental health. Registrants can enter as an individual runner or biker or in relay teams of 4. The total distance of the race is 21 km. The route has been designed to start and end at Brandon Police Service (Armouries). It also passes by Brandon Regional Health Centre, Blue Hills RCMP Detachment, Brandon Correctional Center, and #1 Fire Hall/Telecoms.
