Additional Information:
On 2008-10-21 it was reported a boat had capsized in Lake Winnipeg 15 miles south east of Poplar River between Marchand Point and George Island. The boat left Poplar Point on 2008-10-20 to remove buoys from Lake Winnipeg. During the evening the boat experienced technical difficulties and was unable to continue. Throughout the early morning hours the weather began to worsen, experiencing 10 foot waves, at this time the vessel started to take in water. As a result the boat began to sink. Two of the three passengers were able to make it to Marchand's Point where they were rescued. No foul play is suspected and it is presumed George Donald EVERETT drowned.
